Peter Elliott
Director

Peter holds a degree in Geology and an MSc in Petroleum Geology. He has 25 years experience in the international oil and gas industry working in New Ventures and Business Development. He has recent experience of building oil company JVs in West Africa, including Guinea Bissau, Sao Tome & Principe, Senegal AGC, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Equatorial Guinea.
He has recent experience managing exploration contracts and work programmes, including frontier programmes in West Africa and works closely with African Oil and gas companies and service companies. Peter has a track record of advising large cap companies and small start-ups in identifying and securing suitable growth assets in Africa. Recognised as a specialist in Sub-Saharan Africa, he has completed deals with the likes of Oando (Sao Tome), Black Star (Guinea Bissau), Talisman (Sierra Leone) and Rocksource (AGC) Peter and team constantly research and report on Africa E&P activity, providing valuable insight to clients around the world and regularly speaking at major industry events.

IanBulley

Ian Bulley
Senior Associate, Subsurface

Mr. Bulley has over 35 years of exploration and development experience with major oil companies and independents in: Africa, Asia, the Middle East and the North Sea. A graduate of Reading University and Imperial College (MSc) Mr. Bulley was a key member of the Hardman Resources team that discovered the East Africa Rift oil province and contributed to the discovery of Mauritania’s first producible hydrocarbons. As Exploration Manager of Rialto Petroleum, he was responsible for exploration wells in Cote d'Ivoire and Ghana. Prior to joining PVE he was Principal Geologist with Cairn Energy. He is a Fellow of the Geological Society and a member of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain.

 

Maddy

Madeleine Slatford
Senior Associate, Business Development & Subsurface

Madeleine has an accomplished track record in the E&P industry. With a degree in Geology from Imperial College and a Masters in Basin Evolution and Dynamics from Royal Holloway University of London, she joined IEDS / IHS in the 1990s, working on geological and scout reports for South Asia and other regions. Maddy joined Cairn Energy in 2004 as Consultant Geologist, and spent 13 years with Tullow Oil in Dublin, working on high impact exploration campaigns in South Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. Madeleine also has an active interest in the energy transition and the role of new energy sources in the global economy. 

Tobias

Tobias Tonsing
Senior Consultant

Tobias holds a degree in Exploration Geophysics and an MSc in Geology, specializing in Rock Physics. He has over 20 years’ experience in the international oil and gas industry. Tobias spent 10 years at Tullow Oil leading successful New Ventures and Asset Management Projects covering almost all of Africa’s Petroleum Basins. He held leading positions in the Exploration, Commercial, Planning and Business Development Teams at Tullow Oil. Since 2015, Tobias has worked for Africa Energy Corp and Africa Oil Corp in various consulting and technical management roles. He led operated exploration projects in South Africa and Namibia, and was involved in identifying and promoting numerous successful new ventures project across Africa, most recently in the highly prospective Orange Basin.

Peter Browning-Stamp
Senior Consultant

Peter Browning-Stamp is an experienced geoscientist with over 15 years in subsurface exploration and development, spanning oil, gas, CCUS, and geothermal projects. He has led and contributed to high-impact ventures across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, working with operators ranging from major energy companies to early-stage challengers. He has a proven track record in seismic interpretation, prospect maturation, drilling and new ventures, with recent leadership on pioneering plays in the UK Southern North Sea and onshore Denmark. Peter has authored peer-reviewed publications, delivered technical talks, and helped shape licence round strategies and regulatory engagement. As Director of Subsurface, he brings technical depth, commercial insight, and a passion for unlocking complex plays in underexplored regions.
